HomeMy WebLinkAboutAddendum 2 SixMileTribRFP Town of Ithaca || 215 N Tioga Street || Ithaca, NY 14850 Addendum #02 Additional questions & answers submitted through September 9th 2022 Ithaca Reservoir Stream Restoration and Sediment Reduction Project: Engineering Planning & Design Tompkins County, New York September 14, 2022 Crooked Canal Wetland Retention Project: Conceptual Plan Addendum #02 2 | Page Q: On page 5, the RFP states that “shapefiles of both (drainage area and stream) are available.” Will they be made available in this proposal phase or after award? Click >>>HERE<<< for a zip file containing land use, drainage, and watershed shapefiles. However, as mentioned in the RFP and site visit, the accuracy of both is highly questionable given the uncertainty around the residential storm drainage system. The hope is the provided data collected in 2019 would/could serve as the principal basis for informing design due to this uncertainty. Q: Mentioned during the pre-proposal site visit was the possible availability of record drawings for the drainage infrastructure in the catchment, particularly in the “mid-reach” area at the access road and Park Lane. Are those available? At least one easement was mentioned during the pre-proposal site visit. Is there any mapping or other information on that? The maps attached with Addendum #01 contain the extent of spatial information regarding both the easements and the drainage network. The fist map shows the easement through the “Vineyard Reach”, the second shows the 20 foot easement along the access road, and the last 3 maps show the Town’s extent of mapping of the drainage network through the residential community. Q: In Addendum #01 you had responded that there is no data available for the sediment removed from the access road area. Can you confirm if there is any data available for the volume and frequency of sediment removed at the confluence of the stream and reservoir? There is not. The City of Ithaca is not aware of any dredging/sediment removal having taken place within the reservoir (or stream confluence), though has exploring obtaining a permit to do so. Q: You had responded in Addendum #01 that the Town has some knowledge of the residential stormwater system northeast of Slaterville Road. Is the Town aware of any previously conducted hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and/or modeling of this system? They are not. The provided maps are the extent of knowledge known to the Town. Q: Is there any additional water quality data/analysis available for consideration apart from the stream discharge and land cover data provided in the RFP? There is not. Additional data was not collected this year due to equipment supply limitations (though conditions would have limited acquisition regardless). Crooked Canal Wetland Retention Project: Conceptual Plan Addendum #02 3 | Page Q: Is the Town the recipient of the grant award? i.e., will the selected consultant be in contract directly with the Town? Yes, the Town is the recipient. The contract will be between the hired consultant and the Town. Q: We were wondering if you had an updated estimate for the construction costs? During the site visit you had mentioned you would be reevaluating the $250,000 estimate. Yes, they have been raised to $400,000. Please see addendum #01 for further details.
