HomeMy WebLinkAboutCB Minutes 2019-09-05 Town of Ithaca Conservation Board (CB) September 5,2019, 5:30 pm Final Notes Members in attendance: Mike Roberts,James Hamilton, Hannah George, Will VanDyke Staff: Mike Smith (Senior Planner) No quorum was present—only informal discussions occurred. 1. Persons to be heard: none 2. Members concerns:James reports that Walter Hang of Toxics Targeting found a loophole that the fracking ban only bans water fracking, but gelled propane is permitted.Toxicstargeting.com has a campaign to ban all kinds of fracking.http://www.tox!cstargtin .com MarcellusShale news 2019-08- 2/taaxics-ter et!n -asks-cumo-to-block-frack!n�-in-barton-ny 3. Chair and Coordinator Reports: Mike S reported: i. Route 96 Pedestrian Corridor Study is going to have another public meeting on September 181"at 5pm at PRI, with new plans. ii.The Town has been drafting a new form based code which would apply to Traditional Neighborhood Development(TND) areas (as shown on the Future Land Use/Character map). This would allow mixed use development and increase walkability in those existing areas within the TND areas (one area around East Hill Plaza and the second area around E King Road). More information coming soon. iii. Conservation Board has several brochures that may warrant updating in the near future, because all the office computers are being updated and the past files may no longer be edited. 4. Minutes: no quorum to vote 5. September 151"Streets Alive!: Discussion of the Streets Alive event on September 15, and what materials and information we would like to share.The new 10' x 10' canopy tent arrived.The focus will be on biking in the Town and will have a large version of the scenic view tour. Hannah will make a sign soliciting public input on Town development&drop it off at the Town office. Will is going to pick up materials on Friday the 13th from Mike Smith. 6. Ithaca Energy Code Supplement:There is a new draft Ithaca Energy Code Supplement. Mike Smith will email with more information, including upcoming public meetings. Read &submit comments to Nick Goldsmith -you can include POSITIVE FEEDBACK as well, since negative feedback will likely be abundant from developers. Comments are due by September 30. 7.
