This pattern is quite close to that of 2007, when the months of January to
June or .July were very quiet with no complaerts, and then a rush of
compl1aints came during the late summer and M. Interestingly, very few
compl s have been from students over party raise. It may be due to the
enforoement of strict rules regarding parties and raise has began to be
accepted as inevitable by the students, and as well, the two colleges have
made attempts to introduce more activities to occupy them during periods of
him Mob The I's 4 ernination of written and spoken clarification
about expected behavior at the start of fall terms has probably added to their
understanding.
The Board lost three members during the year. Two died rather suddenly, and
one retired after 15 years as a part of the Board. This brought our numbers
down to 5. One new member was recruited in the early Fall, and another
member left at the end of her term in December, as she had moved out of the
city.
After spending most of the year without a Youth Mender, an US senior year
student joined the Board in December, and our total membership is now 6 out
of 9. We recruit with articles in the Journal o- - asionaNy, a radio spat last
year, and have found that tabling at the Apple Harvest Festival reaches many
people who are new to town. We would like to fdl the empty board spots, as
our members have, in the main, been serving for many years.
Our office at GIAC wM be numang with the GIAC staff this year when the
building undergoes renovation, however, the timing and location is not yet
known.
