SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS
Award of Contract for Capital Project 724, Ithaca Commons Repair and Upgrade –
Contract 2 – Utilities – Resolution
By Commissioner Darling: Seconded by Commissioner Jenkins
WHEREAS, Common Council established Capital Project 724 for Repair and Upgrade
to the Ithaca Commons in the amount of $10,433,000.00, and
WHEREAS, bids were received on July 12, 2013, for the Ithaca Commons Repair and
Upgrade – Contract 2 – Utilities contract, and
WHEREAS, Vacri Construction Corporation of One Brick Avenue, Binghamton, NY is
the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,724,000.00 for utility construction, now
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Board of Public Works awards the contract for Ithaca Commons
Repair and Upgrade – Contract 2 – Utilities to Vacri Construction Corporation of One
Brick Avenue, Binghamton, NY, and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Superintendent of Public Works be authorized to enter into and
administer this contract.
Discussion followed on the floor regarding possible issues for businesses operating
without water, communicating with crews and working with the businesses during this
phase of the project.
A Vote on the Resolution Resulted as Follows:
Carried Unanimously
