HomeMy WebLinkAboutMN-CC-2010-08-17COMMON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS CITY OF ITHACA, NEW YORK Special Meeting 5:30 p.m. August 17, 2010 PRESENT: Mayor Peterson Alderpersons (10) Coles, Dotson, Rosario, Clairborne, McCollister, Zumoff, Rooker, Myrick, Cogan, Mohlenhoff OTHERS PRESENT: City Clerk – Conley Holcomb City Controller – Thayer Superintendent of Public Works – Gray Acting Fire Chief – Dorman Youth Bureau Director – Green Cass Park Recreation Facilities Director – Dalterio City Planner – Kusznir Board of Public Works Commissioner - Brock PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Peterson led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. 2. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS: 2.1 Finance/Controller’s Office - Approval of 2008 Single Audit Report – Motion to Reconsider By Alderperson Rosario: Seconded by Alderperson Myrick RESOLVED, That the Approval of the 2008 Single Audit Report be reconsidered. Carried Unanimously Resolution By Alderperson Rosario: Seconded by Alderperson Myrick RESOLVED, That the Independent Auditor’s Report for the period of January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 prepared by the accounting firm of Ciaschi, Dietershagen, Little and Mickelson & Company, LLP be accepted to comply with all the City’s applicable Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement 34 and other related audit and single audit requirements. Carried Unanimously NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Peterson explained that Common Council members received a Lead Agency Status Request from the Board of Public Works on the East Clinton Street Bridge Project. No Council members objected, so Mayor Peterson agreed to sign-off on the request on behalf of Common Council. Mayor Peterson explained that the Special Common Council meeting has now concluded, and that Common Council would remain for a working session to learn more about the City’s capital project planning efforts.
