HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-04-15-BZA-FINALTOWN OF ULYSSES BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS Wednesday, April 15, 2015 7:00 p.m. Approved.- May 20, 2015 Present: Chairperson George Tselekis, BZA Members: Andy Hillman, David Means, Stephen Morreale, and Cheryl Thompson. Ms. Thompson was named an alternate member in place of Bob Howarth who was excused. Excused: Bob Howarth Public Present: None Review of meeting minutes from 12/17/14 Mr. Means made a motion to approve the meeting minutes, Mr. Hillman seconded the motion. VOTE: Hillman Means Morreale Thompson Tselekis AYE AYE ABSTAIN AYE AYE Motion passes, 12/17/14 meeting minutes approved. Review of meeting minutes from 2/18/15 Ms. Thompson made a motion to approve the meeting minutes, Mr. Morreale seconded the motion. Discussion: Mr. Morreale suggested a revision to add a statement that he was uncomfortable with the absence of the property owner for one of the variance appeals. The Board discussed that property owners should attend the meetings in order to answer questions. VOTE: Hillman AYE Means AYE Morreale AYE Thompson AYE Tselekis AYE Motion passes, 2/18/15 meeting minutes approved. Board of Zoning Appeals 2 April 15, 2015 PUBLIC HEARING: Appeal by Ross Tate for area variance(s) under Article IX Section 9.6 of the Town of Ulysses Zoning Law. This is for the purpose of constructing a new accessory building, where the distance would be eight (8) inches from the lakeshore, and 40 feet is the required setback for accessory buildings. The property is located in the LS -Lakeshore District at 1153 Taughannock Blvd, Town of Ulysses, Tax Parcel Number is 31.-2-6. There were no members of the public to make comments. Neither the applicant nor the agent/architect (Gary Bush) was present. Ms. Kiley called Mr. Bush and the Board requested that the owner or agent attend the next meeting. Mr. Hillman made a motion to adjourn the discussion until the May 20, 2015 meeting; Mr. Morreale seconded the motion. VOTE: Hillman AYE Means AYE Morreale AYE Thompson AYE Tselekis AYE Motion passes.
