APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Richardson made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 12, 2012 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 2-0. NEW BUSINESS New Position Duties Statement and Adoption of Job Description: DPW – Director of Parking The Commission reviewed and discussed a New Position Duties Statement from the Department of Public Works and the proposed job description for Director of Parking. The Commission focused the discussion on the appropriate educational prerequisites for the position. After discussion, Commissioner Richardson made a motion to classify the position as Director of Parking and adopt the job description as proposed. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 2-0. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 2-0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: CONTINUING BUSINESS Approval of Roster of Candidates for Examination Commissioner Richardson made a motion to approve the Roster of Candidates for Police Lieutenant Examination #71-616. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 2- 0. Civil Service Commission October 3, 2012 Page 2 Addition of Names to Continuous Recruitment Eligible Lists Commissioner Abrams made a motion to add candidates to the continuous recruitment eligible lists. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 2-0. Approval of Personnel Transactions Commissioner Richardson made a motion to approve the Personnel Transactions. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 2-0. The next Civil Service Commission meeting will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 9:30 am. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:35 am.
