APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 1, 2009 meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. NEW BUSINESS Revision of Minimum Qualifications – Network Integration Specialist The Commission reviewed and discussed a request from Director of Information Technology Duane Twardokus to amend the minimum qualifications for Network Integration Specialist to read as follows: “MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. Graduation from a NYS registered or regionally accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering or a closely related field with similar course curriculum; or B. Graduation from a NYS registered or regionally accredited college with an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or a closely related field with similar course curriculum AND one (1) year of full-time paid experience, or its part-time paid equivalent, as a computer support specialist, network support specialist, microcomputer technician or equivalent position providing technical desktop computer and/or network support; or C. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND two (2) years of full-time paid experience, or its part-time paid equivalent, as a computer support specialist, network support specialist, microcomputer technician or equivalent position providing technical desktop computer and/or network support; or D. Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C).” Civil Service Commission May 6, 2009 Page 2 Commissioner Abrams made a motion to revise the minimum qualifications for Network Integration Specialist as requested. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Richardson made a motion to go into executive session to discuss civil service examination matters. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 3-0. During executive session, the Commission took the following actions: Request to Approve Late Applications The Commission reviewed and discussed a request to approve two late applications for Senior Code Inspector Exam #74-923. Commissioner Thompson made a motion to accept the late applications. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 3-0. CONTINUING BUSINESS Approval of Rosters of Candidates for Examination Commissioner Abrams made a motion to approve the Rosters of Candidates for Examination listed below. Seconded by Commissioner Richardson. Motion carried 3-0. Housing and Land Use Supervisor #75-505 Senior Code Inspector #74-923 Establishment of Eligible Lists Commissioner Abrams made a motion to establish the eligible lists specified below for the time period indicated. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. Administrative Assistant #69-487 (2 years) Administrative Coordinator #61-076 (2 years) Forestry Technician #68-071 (2 years) GIAC Program Coordinator #75-322 (2 years) GIAC Program Coordinator #64-372 (2 years) GIAC Program Leader #75-321 (1 year) GIAC Program Leader #63-197 (2 years) Head Custodian #74-746 (1 year) Junior Transportation Engineer #74-922 (1 year) Office Manager #73-996 (1 year) Office Manager #68-173 (2 years) Youth Program Leader #63-556 (2 years) Addition of Names to Continuous Recruitment Eligible Lists Commissioner Richardson made a motion to add names to the continuous recruitment eligible lists. Seconded by Commissioner Thompson. Motion carried 3-0. Civil Service Commission May 6, 2009 Page 3 Approval of Personnel Transactions Commissioner Thompson made a motion to approve the Personnel Transactions. Seconded by Commissioner Abrams. Motion carried 3-0. The next Civil Service Commission meeting will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 9:30 am. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:08 am.
