Minutes from the 5/31/06 special meeting
Dave Breeden, David Gersh, Joyce Muchan, Nicole Carrier - Titti, Shane Seger, Patty
Sipman, John Dennis in attendance.
1. Agenda for this meeting is only to discuss and possibly approve a resolution
concerning the City's "Downtown Density Policy" If we do pass a resolution, we
would present it at the special Planning Meeting on Monday, June 5, 2006
2. A resolution authored by Shane Seger was discussed. The following changes to it
were decided on:
a. any resolution should specify the nature of the standards for
affordable housing, so that nationally accepted standards are used
b. any tax abatements should be given in the form of a contract with
clearly defined community benefits
c. any such contract should have adequate provisions for
monitoring the terms of the contract (e.g., the financial situation
of the development)
d. any such contract should make it clear that the abatements would
be rescinded if the promises made by the contract (e.g.,
community benefits, financial monitoring, etc) are not kept.
3. The resolution was passed unanimously by all voting members present.
