Minutes from the 3/15/06 meeting
Phoebe Brown, Dave Breeden, David Gersh, John Dennis, Shane Seger in attendance
1. Report from Dave B. and Shane about attending the Landlords' Association
meeting. Discussion that there is a problem in getting timely inspections and
certificates of occupancy from the Building Dept., and that the landlords feel that
trash, noise ,etc. ordinances unfairly target them. Further discussion that the
RHAC could be a forum for landlords to communicate with t he City (and tenants,
etc) and have an impact on legislation BEFORE it becomes law.
2. Discussion of the need for a second "Public Forum on Rental Housing," like the
one held last year. Discussion of April 19th or 30th as a possible date, but several
members expressed a desire to have the Mayor present at the Forum, so that
adapting to her schedule is necessary. Discussion of various methods of publicity
(including getting in touch with Robin Palmer and Casey Stevens), and that it
would be useful for us to have a better understanding of what we do as a group
before holding the forum
