The meeting was held at the Ulysses Town Hall at 10 Elm Street, Trumansburg.

Board members- Rich Goldman, John Hertzler, Nancy Zahler, David Kerness
Clerk- Carissa Parlato
Attorney for the Town- Mariette Geldenhuys
Code Enforcement Officer- Alex Rachun
Deputy Supervisor- Michelle Wright
OTHERS PRESENT:
Diane Hillmann, Bonze Anne Rose Blayk, Dave Gell, Phil Antweiler
Ms. Thomas noted the purpose of the Public Information meeting: to give residents a chance to ask
questions on the proposed law, a Local Law to Amend the Enforcement Provision of Local Law #1 of
2007, which provides for administration and enforcement of the NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and
Building Code.
Mr. Goldman gave the rationale for the proposal.
Ms. Geldenhuys explained the differences in the new law versus the old law. Most notably, the new
law will give the town the ability to fix violating properties and bill the property owner, as a last resort.
If the property owner does not pay, the bill can be re -levied onto their property tax bill.
Members of the public asked clarifying questions.
Mr. Kerness made a motion to close the Public Information meeting at 6:36pm, seconded by Ms.
Zahler.
