Minutes of Special Meeting
March 7, 2016

Special Meeting Opened at 5:00pm
CSEA Union Contract
The Board held a brief discussion regarding the negotiation process for the CSEA Union agreement.
Brenner thanked Deitrich for all the effort which had gone into this contract. Dietrich described the intent
of the Town through this negotiation process, primarily improving the working relationship between the
Town and union members at the Highway Department. Brenner added that she appreciates the clarity of
this document. Dietrich gave credit to Town Attorney Krogh for his assistance with this.
Bookkeeper Shawley shared that the work ethic and morale at the Highway Barns is good at this time.
RESOLUTION NO. 28 OF 2016 - AUTHORIZE EXECUTION OF 2016 CSEA AGREEMENT
Whereas, on January 11, 2016, the Town’s Highway Department employees as represented by CSEA (the “Unit”)
came to a tentative agreement with the Town of Danby concerning the terms and conditions of employment
bargained under the Unit’s collective bargaining agreement for Fiscal Year 2016-2018 (the “Agreement”);and
Whereas, the Unit has formally approved the Agreement, the Agreement has been signed by CSEA, and the Town
Board has reviewed and now also seeks to formally approve the Agreement; and
Whereas, and upon due deliberation thereupon by the Town Board,
Be it resolved, as follows:
1. The Agreement between the Unit and the Town as presented to this meeting be and hereby is approved.
2. The Town Supervisor and Deputy Supervisory hare hereby severally authorized to execute such agreement by,
for, and on behalf of, and in the name of the Town.
Moved by Brenner, Second by Miller. The motion passed.
In Favor: Brenner, Holahan, Miller, Dietrich.
Highway Superintendent - Discussion
The Board held an informal discussion regarding consideration of changing Highway Superintendent
from an elected to appointed position. Further discussion will be held during the March 14 TB meeting. !!!
