Special Town Board Meeting

Present : Supervisor Roxanne Marino ; Councilpersons Elizabeth Thomas, Lucia Tyler,
David Kerness and Kevin Romer; Deputy Supervisor Sue Poelvoorde ;
Town Clerk Marsha L . Georgia.
Supervisor Marino called the meeting to order at 7 : 05 p . m. and reviewed the items on the
agenda.
Vouchers
Ms . Marino moved, seconded by Mr. Kerness the following :
BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Ulysses approves the previous
examined vouchers 199 to 207 in the amount of $27,465 . 92 .

Vacation Schedules
Ms . Thomas asked the Board to list the dates that they will be out of Town or unavailable for
Board meetings through the summer months should the need arise to schedule additional
meetings.
Dates were given and Ms . Thomas will update the scheduling calendar.
EMS
The Board discussed the joint meeting they attended with the Village of Trumansburg and what
they took from that meeting . Ms . Marino said that she followed up with an email to Trustee
Debra Nottke and Brian Snyder with a request for information related to the Village EMS service
extending to cover the entire Town of Covert. To date she had not received a satisfactory
response . The Board discussed their next steps forward.
The Board agreed to put together a resolution to be sent to the Village stating the next steps the
Town wants to take . This resolution will be discussed at the next Regular Town Board meeting
on June 12 , 2012 .
Lake Shore Zoning
The Town Board will review the drafts of the proposed Lakeshore and Conservation Zones and
discuss them at the June 12, 2012 , Regular Town Board meeting. The Board discussed the
revisions that need to be made to Article III - Administrative Procedures at the same time the law
will be updated with the two new zones . The Board reviewed a timeline Ms . Marino developed
with Darby Kiley, Environmental Planner, for the overall review and public hearing.
Town Newsletter

At the May 8 , 2012, Regular Town Board meeting, the Board discussed writing and distributing
a newsletter to all Ulysses residents but tabled a decision until the full Board was present. Ms .
Thomas and Ms . Marino shared their idea for the newsletter with the full Board. Ms. Thomas
will head up production and will solicit articles from other elected officials and department
heads . Before the newsletter is distributed, the full Town Board will have the opportunity to
review. The goal for the first newsletter is to have it out by August so that summer residents will
receive a copy.

• Public Hearing on Expenditure for Roof Repair Contract (6 : 30 p .m . )
• 2012 Recreation Partnership Agreement
• Proposed Lakeshore and Conservation Zones Review
• Cable Franchise fees
• Planning/Zoning Board training policy
• Weatherby Land Acquisition — for Seneca Road Bridge project
Hearing no further business Ms . Marino moved, seconded by Mr. Kerness to adjourn the
meeting . Unanimously approved and meeting adjourned at 9 : 20 p . m .
