The special meeting which was called by the supervisor with notification to the media on Friday, July
21, 2023, was called into session with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:30 AM.
Create a Temporary Employment Position
RESOLUTION #23-070‐ CREATE NEW POSITION OF INFORMATION AIDE
MOVED by Supervisor Scheffler, seconded by Councilperson Clark
Whereas, the Town of Groton may be, from time to time, in need of an employee to cover personal
absences and/or to work on special projects, and,
Whereas, such an occurrence may exist in the near future, and
Whereas, The Town Board desires to be prepared for such an occurrence in order to provide seamless
service to the public,
Be it hereby,
Resolved, that the Town Board of the Town of Groton hereby creates the employment position of
Information Aide, intended to be a temporary, part-time position on an as-needed basis, with no
benefits and the salary would be based on the specific job at the time.
Ayes – Clark, Young, Gamel, Scheffler, Resolution Passed
Nays -
There being no further business, Councilperson Gamel moved to adjourn, seconded by Supervisor
Scheffler, at 7:45 am. Unanimous.
