Special Town Board Meeting
October 3 , 2011
Present : Supervisor Roxanne Marino ; Councilpersons Elizabeth Thomas, David Kerness and
Kevin Romer; Deputy Supervisor Sue Poelvoorde; Town Clerk Marsha L. Georgia.
Absent: Councilwoman Lucia Tyler
Supervisor Marino called the meeting to order at 7 : 00 p .m.
Ms . Thomas introduced a resolution titled "RESOLUTION TO ASK THE NEW YORK
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION OR NEW YORK STATE
LEGISLATURE TO DELAY THE RELEASE OF HYDROFRACTURING REGULATIONS UNTIL
AFTER THE REVISED DRAFT SUPPLEMENTAL GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
STATEMENT IS FINALIZED . " This resolution will be voted on at the Regular Town Board meeting of
October 11 , 2011 .
Ms . Marino presented the tentative 2012 budget and reviewed same .
A discussion followed with Ms . Thomas proposing a different approach to pay increases and health
insurance contributions. A compromise was made and Mr. Kerness moved, seconded by Ms. Thomas the
following:
BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Ulysses give elected officials 1 % pay
increase and non-elected officials 2% pay increase.

Ms . Marino will make the budget modifications discussed tonight and present a revised tentative budget
for the Regular Town Board meeting of October 11 , 2011 .
The Board briefly discussed the upcoming joint meeting with the Village of Trumansburg on the EMS
agreement.
The Board talked about mailing postcards to residents in the proposed Lakeshore and Conservation zones
for notification when the public hearing is scheduled.
Hearing no further business Ms. Marino moved, seconded by Mr. Romer to adjourn the meeting.
Unanimously approved and meeting adjourned at 9 : 25 p .m.
