REGULAR MEETING
The Regular Meeting of the Town of Groton Planning Board was called to order by
Chairman Mark Baxendell at 7:30 p.m.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS FOR 2023
Selection of Regular Meeting Date and Time
A motion was made by Member Rose to maintain the regular meeting date as the 3rd Thursday
of every month at 7:30pm, second by Member Leon Brockway Jr. with a vote recorded as
follows:
Ayes: Chair Baxendell Nays: None

Member Maloney Hahn
Member Neuhauser
Member Rose
This becomes Action #1 of 2023.
Selection of Board Chair
A motion was made by Member Monica Carey to select Mark Baxendell as Town of Groton
Planning Board Chairman for 2023. The motion was seconded by Member Ed Neuhauser with
the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chair Baxendell Nays: None

Member Cerretani
Member Maloney Hahn
Member Neuhauser
Member Rose
Motion carried.
This becomes Action #2 of 2023.
Selection of Board Vice-Chair
A motion was made by Member Maloney Hahn to select Leon Brockway, Jr., as Town of Groton
Planning Board Vice Chair for 2023. The motion was seconded by Member Rose, with the vote
recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chair Baxendell Nays: None

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – 10 OCTOBER 2022
A motion was made by Member Lisa Maloney Hahn to approve the Minutes of the 10 October
2022 Planning Board meeting, as submitted. The motion was seconded by Member Dan
Cerretani, with the vote recorded as follows:

Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS –
Joan Fitch has sent an email that after long service to the Town, will retire. We certainly wish
her all the best and she will be missed. The position for the board secretary is open and Jessica
Rankin is here tonight to get an idea for what we do. The board discussed her qualifications.
She is currently working with a large bank documenting the meetings and highlights to what
the board would need were exchanged.
RECOMMEND JESSICA RANKIN- NEW BOARD SECRETARY
A motion was made by Member Monica Carey to recommend Jessica Rankin as the new
Planning Board Secretary to the Groton Town Board, seconded by Member Sam Rose with a vote
recorded as follows:

RETIREMENT GIFT FOR JOAN FITCH
A motion was made by Vice Chair Leon Brockway Jr. to recommend to the Groton Town Board
that a gift card of $50.00 be sent to Joan for her long and committed service to all the boards,
seconded by Member Monic Carey with a vote recorded as follows:

ADJOURNMENT
At 7:50 p.m., a motion was made by Member Cerretani to adjourn the meeting. The motion was
seconded by Member Neuhauser with all members present voting in favor.
