Public Hearing
2009 Preliminary Budget
October 6 , 2008
PRESENT : Supervisor Douglas Austic ; Council Elizabeth Thomas, Council Lucia Tyler,
Rod Ferrentino , David Kerness, absent; Town Clerk Marsha L. Georgia.
Others Present : Roxanne Marino
Proof of publication having been furnished the public hearing convened at 7 : pm.
Ms . Marino said that she would like the Town to consider using less Sales Tax in the
2009 budget for revenue because of the economy. She feels that the Town is not being
conservative enough . Ms . Marino said that the national projection is that sales tax is
going to go down. She would like to see the Board consider not putting aside so much
money for the new Town Barns building. Ms . Marion also feels that the Town may not
want to use as much of the fund balances .
Ms . Marion said that she also felt some of the information in the 2009 Budget
Presentation was not accurate and that the information could be made clearer.
Ms . Thomas also mentioned that there needed to be some changes to the Budget
Presentation.
Hearing no further comments the public hearing closed at 7 : 30 PM .
