Mr. Goodman called the meeting to order at 12:11 p.m.
The special meeting was called to discuss and consider two resolutions relating to filling the
Town Engineer position, since the current Town Engineer, Creig Hebdon, is retiring, effective
June 3, 2016.
TB Resolution 2016-083: Ratify Promotional Appointment of Senior Civil Engineer
Whereas, there is a planned vacancy in the full time position of Senior Civil Engineer in the
Public Works Department due to a resignation effective June 3, 2016; and
Whereas, the Highway Superintendent has determined through interview and evaluation that
Daniel Thaete, P.E., Civil Engineer, possesses the necessary knowledge, skills and ability to
satisfactorily perform the duties of the Senior Civil Engineer; and
Whereas, the Highway Superintendent promotionally appoints Daniel Thaete, P.E., to the Senior
Civil Engineer position, effective June 5, 2016; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca does hereby ratify the Highway
Superintendent's provisional non-competitive promotional appointment of Daniel Thaete, P.E.,
as a full time Senior Civil Engineer for the Public Works Department, effective June 5, 2016;
and be it further
Resolved, this is a 40 hours a week position, at the hourly wage of$34.14, which is an estimated
annual salary of$71,011, in Job Classification "G", with full time benefits; and be it further
Resolved, if the employee successfully completes the mandatory eight (8) week probationary
period, there will be no further action required by the Town Board.

TB Resolution 2016-084: Designate Senior Civil Engineer as the Town Engineer for the
Town of Ithaca
Be it resolved, the Town Board hereby designates Daniel Thaete, P.E., Senior Civil Engineer as
the Town Engineer for purposes of Town Law §20 for a term of June 5, 2016 continuing until
the 1st day of January next succeeding the next biennial Town election to wit, January 1, 2018.

On a motion by Ms. Leary, seconded by Mr. Howe, the meeting adjourned at 12:14 p.m.
