A Local law authorizing the issuance of appearance
tickets by certain public servants of the Town of Ithaca
Section I - The purpose of this local law is to authorize
public servants of the Town if Ithaca to issue and serve appearance
tickets in accordance with provisions of Chapter 495 of the Laws
of 1978, in connection with violations of state statutes, codes,
rules and regulations and local laws, ordinances, or rules and
regulations of the Town of Ithaca which the publice servants are
atuhorized of required to enforce.
Section II - A. Whenever any public servant of the Town of
Ithaca who, by virtue of office, title or position is authorized
or required to enforce any state statute, code, rule and regulation,
or local law, ordinance, rule or regulation related to parking,
licensing of occupations or businesses, fire prevention and
safety, health sanitation, and building, zoning and planning,
such public servant shall be authorized to issue appearance tickets
in connection with such enforcement.
B. Without limiting the foregoing, the public
servants fillingthe following offices, titles or positions shall
be authorized to enforce any state statutes, codes, rules and
regulations, or local laws, ordinances, and rules or regulations
within their area of authority as listed below:

I. Building inspector; zoning "Codes" relating to buildings,
officer zoning, planning, environmental
control, fire prevention and
safety.
2. Dog Warden Enforcement of dog laws, control
and regulation of dogs including
but not limited to the licensing
of dogs and collection of fees.
3. Town Clerk The lincensing of dogs and
collection of fees for such
licensing; the licensing of occ-
upations or businesses.
4. Town Engineer Health and sanitation, includ-
ing construction, operation
and maintenance of sewer and water
lines.

Intermunicipal Water maintenance of water lines.
Commission
Section III Each separate provision of this local law shall
be deemed independent of all the provisions herein, and if any
provisions shall be deemedor declared invalid, all other provisions
hereof shall remain valid and enforceable.
Section IV - This local law shall take effect immediately.
Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca on March 12, 1979.
