Attendees: Leonardo Vargas-Mendez, Ray Burger, Jim Skaley, Miles McCarty, Mike Murphy,
Martha Robertson. Guest Steve Hugo -(Holt Architects) Also Attending Marie McCrae. Diane
Tessaglia-Hymes excused.
Approving Past minutes: Mike Murphy made a motion seconded by Miles McCarty to approve
the minutes for 3/14/2022, 4/4/2022, 4/20/2022, 5/4/2022, 5/18/2022 and 6/1/2022. All voted in
favor.
Topic: Continued discussion on how to proceed with gathering more housing information. Miles
indicated that local land laws may need to be changed to promote more development.
Mike Murphy has contacted IDA to set up a meeting to look at the property in the Village.
Martha suggested a survey of developers.
Steve Hugo joined us as 2:35 and discussed his firm’s working with INHS on affordable housing
and emphasized a need for a marketing demand survey.
Affordability mostly through HCR for subsidies most INHS projects go for a 4% tax credit.
Didn’t see where modular housing while good for quick on-site construction didn’t save much in
dollars; canalization for wood framing preferred to reduce costs.
Next meeting June 29. With Noah Demerantz from Stream Collaborative architects. They have
also worked with INHS.
