SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
August 27, 2021
Present: Supervisor Jason Leifer, Cl Daniel Lamb, Cl James Skaley,
Cl Loren Sparling (via Zoom), Cl Leonardo Vargas-Mendez
Elected Officials: Bambi L. Avery, Town Clerk
Other Town Staff:
Supv Leifer opened the meeting at 12:04 p.m. and explained the reason for this special
meeting is to approve a Memorandum of Understanding with Clarity Fiber Solutions. This is a
prepayment toward a fiber lease in the Mt Pleasant area, an area that has been underserved for
a long period of time. People in that area will be getting hooked up by Clarity before school
starts. These folks will be Clarity customers, but the fiber lease will further the town’s
broadband project.
The board discussed the agreement and Cl Sparling said he is very supportive of the
endeavor and wishes that he could have attended the meeting in person to vote.
RESOLUTION #144 (2021) – APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH
CLARITY FIBER SOLUTIONS, LLC
Supv Leifer offered the following resolution and asked for its adoption:
RESOLVED, that this Town Board hereby approves a Memorandum of Understanding
with Clarity Fiber Solutions, LLC providing for a prepayment of $75,000 toward a dark fiber
lease and the Supervisor is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the town.
