SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
June 29, 2021

Absent: Supervisor Jason Leifer
Elected Officials: Bambi L. Avery, Town Clerk
Other Town Staff:
Deputy Supervisor Lamb called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
The public hearing that was scheduled to hear comments regarding submission of a
CDBG application for sidewalks in Varna was not held (and no one was present for that topic).
Cl Skaley explained that instead of applying for funding for the sidewalks and on the advice of
consultants, the town will reapply for CDBG funding for the sewer main repair/replacement.
Resolution #130 (2021) - Authorize a Public Hearing to discuss community development
needs for sewer main repair/replacement in the Hamlet of Varna and to discuss the re-
submission of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for 2021
program year through the Combined Funding Application (CFA) program.
Cl Skaley offered the following resolution and asked for its adoption:
Whereas, the NYSDOT upgrade and repaving of Rt 366 from the Ithaca City line to the
intersection of Rt 13 will include a sidewalk on the south side of the road between Forest Home
Dr and Mt. Pleasant and that portions of the paving and sidewalk will cover parts of the sewer
mains, and
Whereas, NYSDOT has scheduled their repaving and sidewalk construction for the spring of
2022, and
Whereas, the Town of Dryden’s complete application has been submitted to the Environmental
Facilities Corporation for final review, and
Whereas, the Town of Dryden will have a special public meeting on June 29 at 6 p.m. to
discuss a resolution to set a public hearing for an amended CDBG application to reapply for
funds through the CFA program, and therefore be it
Resolved that a public hearing will be held to discuss the CDBG application to fund sewer main
repair and/or replacement on July 15, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.
