Summary:
The following items were discussed during a Broadband Committee Meeting held on 09 July 2021.
1.Financials
a.New insights - original budget $2.9M
i.Pathways - $840K
ii.Fiber materials - $64K
iii.Equipment - $795-1,400K
iv.Contingency
2.Schedule Updates
a.Permit review with the DPW
b.Fiber lead times are 40 weeks out - hoping that there will be enough stock between the
contractor and distributor to complete Phase 1
i.Proposing Prysmian Cable as a substitute and working through warranty process
between fiber and Corning Connectivity
3.Wholesale Bandwidth and IP Addresses
a.Empire Access would like an opportunity to quote as the bandwidth provider and IP addresses
for the Town network
b.Empire is not considered a wholesale provider and were not included in the original RFP
4.RFP Updates
a.Equipment RFP responses have been received from Nokia,Calix, and Ciena
b.Interviews will be held next week

c.Interviews can be setup through Zoom with Cassie
d.The Conference Room will be reserved for the day for these interviews
e.Hunt will provide lunch for local participants
f.Hunt will work on questions and a rubric to be used

a.The Subcommittee needs to decide whether to recommend the only response that they received
or put it back out for additional proposals
b.Mark and Tony recommend that we move forward with X Generation Network after checking
with Sam
c.Implementation Strategy
7.Legal
a.Dryden’s Utility Easement review Village Roads & Rail Trail
i.Some determination still needs to be made on where daylighting utilities is required
ii.We still need clarification on the Village Utility easement, Ray and the DPW will be
discussing this afternoon
b.NYSEG Agreement
c.Properties – Town Hall, Pinckney Rd, Splitter cabinet in Freeville
