Re: Broadband Committee Meeting
Summary:
The following items were discussed during a Special Broadband Committee Meeting held on 31 March 2021.
1. Committee Member introductions
2. Advantages of Municipal owned Network
a. Marketing will be much more necessary in the more densely populated areas of the Town
b. The town is not trying to make a profit
c. Outsource sub components of the business model
3. Disadvantages of Municipal owned Network
a. Concern for taxpayer money going to the project
b. Concern for government overwatch of internet usage
4. Goals for the Committee
a. Tap into committee expertise
b. Leverage committee members to move components
c. Help to tailor agendas as we move forward
d. identify sub committees to address smaller components
e. Assist the project in moving forward on smaller tasks to meet the larger components
f. Create the mechanisms to transition from planning to operations
g. Hunt to suggest subcommittees and add it to Friday's regular agenda

iii. Add input for the Regular Meeting agenda
iv. Deliver Reports to the Committee
h. Be conscientious of members time - stick to the agenda and try to stay on time
i. Have time to digest information ahead of meetings and especially if there are action items
expected
j. Determine a Committee Chair as we move forward
