Business
Project: Site Plan Review; 1151 Taughannock Blvd. Applicant: Dillon Pranger representing Laura Larson,
Owner. Location: 1151 Taughannock Blvd., Tax Map # 31.-2-7 Description: The applicant is seeking to
build a 408 square-foot detached garage. The property is approximately 1.04 acres in size and is located
in the LS – Lakeshore Zone and Steep Overlay Zone. SEQR: This is a Type 2 action under SEQR 6 NYCRR
617.5 (c)(12) and requires no further SEQR review.
Dillon Pranger, representative for Ms. Larson presented the proposal. He explained that the garage will
be mostly used in the winter months, when it is particularly hard for Ms. Larson to get up and down her
steep driveway. He said he placed the garage where disturbance to the existing trees would be minimal.
He asked the Board for feedback on managing storm-water runoff.
Ms. Schneider suggested Mr. Pranger find a way to capture flow and spread out its disposal parallel to
the slope. She explained that that method will avoid gullying the slope and undermining both the new
garage and Ms. Larson’s house (it sits below the to-be-built carport).
Board members also discussed the possibility of using a drywell and gutters – which would be difficult to
install on a steep slope area – and the possibility of Mrs. Larson later wanting to build a walkway near
the carport. Conversation concluded with referring Mr. Pranger back to Ms. Schneider’s suggestion and
plans to hear his proposal again at the February Board meeting.
Meeting concluded at 7:42 PM.
