ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
May 3 , 1971
An adjourned meeting of the Town of Ithaca Zoning Board of
Appeals was held Monday , May 3 , 1971 , in the Town of Ithaca
Office , 108 E . Green Street , Ithaca , New York .
Present : Chairman David Powers , Loran Marion , Jack Hewett ,
Mrs . Laurene Ripley , and David Cowan ( Zoning Officer ) .
Mr . Millard Brink , Appellant , presented his proposal to
rebuild his dairy barn on Elmira Rd which was more than 75 %
destroyed by fire . This is a non -- conforming use in a Business
" C " district .
Mr . Brink proposes to rebuild his barn at least 90 feet
from the edge of the road ( Rt . 13 ) and proposes a steel structure
which he may someday in the future wish tod convert to a com
mercia ] building .
Discussion was held and Loran Marion moved that the Board
of Zoning Appeals grant a variance to Mr . Millard Brink to re �
build his dairy barn at 708 Elmira Rd . The proposed building
should be located at approximately the same location as the
former barn , but at least 90 feet from the edge of the present
highway .

The motion was seconded by Laurene Ripley , . and, u an u
approved . ,
The meeting was adjourned at 8 : 30 p . m .
