• ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
May 20 , 1970
Meeting of the Town of Ithaca Zoning Bca rd of Appeals was
held in the Town Offices , 108 E . Green Street , Ithaca ,
New York , at 7 : 00 p . m .
PRESENT : David F . Powers ; Chairman
Loren Marion
Roger Sovocool
Anselm Soyring
David Cowan , Zoning Officer
Mr . Cowan advised that the Board was meeting to consider
the appeal of Donald L . Jewett to build a garage in the
front yard at 212 Tareyton Drive . He advised that the
matter was tabled at the previous meeting pending re -
submission of plans , and• he passed out the new plans along
with a statement signed by Mr . Jewett ' s neighbors .
Motion by David Powers ; seconded by Loran Marion
RESOLVED , that a variance be granted to Donald L . Jewett ,
® 212 Tareyton Drive , to allow him to build an addition to
his present dwelling to extend 8 ft , to the east beyond
the present home , as shown on a plan dated May 10 , 1970
filed with the Zoning Officer of the, Town of Ithaca . The
said 8 ft , addition consists of an addition to the living
room together with a car port and storage area . The Board
makes the following findings of fact :
1 . That the plan is in keeping with the other homes in
the area .
2 . That the neighboring properties have no objection
to the said plan and extension .
3 . That the extension presents no safety or parking problem .
Therefore , said variance is in keeping with the spirit of
the Zoning Ordinance ,
Carried .
Meeting adjourned at 7 : 25 p . m .
