Also resolved to appoint Joyce Van De Weert as Registrar and Garret Van De Weert as Deputy Town Clerk and Registrar. James Whipple as Dog Warden and Constable, and Reba Sager as Court Clerk. Further resolved to set the salaries as follows: The Supervisors salary of $500 to be paid as follows: $250 on July 1 and $250 on or about Dec. 15. The Town Clerks salary of $800 to be paid $66 amonth and the balance of $74 on or about Dec. 15. The Councilmens salaries of #200 to be paid $100 each on or about Dec. 15. The Town Justices salaries of $700 to be paid as follow: the acting Justice to be paid $300 on or about July 1st.And the balance of $300 on or about Dec. 15 and the other Justice to receive $100 on or about Dec. 15. The Superintendent of Highways salary of $6,000 to be paid as follows: $250 the first and fifteenth of each month. Assessors salaries of $700 set as follows: Chairman to be paid $300 and the other two to be paid $200 each on or about Oct. 15. The Town Board of the Town of Harford met for a re- ular meeting on January 3, 1972, at the Town Hall. The minutes of the Dec. 6, 1971 meeting were read. They were approved at that meeting. The minutes of the Dec. 20, 1971 meeting were read. Sager made a motion to pay the bills listed on these Abstracts. Barber seconded. All were in favor. - The Monthly Statements of the Supervisor were read.. Sager made a motion to approve these. Sager made a resolution that the Town Board meetings be held on the first Mondays of each month. Roll Call: Carpenter - Aye, Allen -Aye, Barber -Aye, Sager -Aye, Wilson -Aye. A representative from the Iroquois Telephone Co. re- quested an Easement across the Town property bought from Totmans on Rt. 38. Sager made a motion to authorize the Supervisor to sign the Easement. Barber seconded. All were in favor. James Hartman met with the board and explained the policies that the Town carries with his Insurance Co. CCarpenter made a motion to reduce the coverage of the0shkash to $16,000 and to leave the other trucks the same. Sager seconded. All were in favor. Sager brought up that there was to be a criminal action against a dog owner under the Town Law. The Town must pay an attorney to prosecute this. Barber made a motion to engage an attorney for up to $35. Carpenter seconded. All were in favor. Barber made a motion to reimburse Garret Van DE Weert for attending Assessors school and to authorize Lewis Sager to attend the Association of Towns meetings on Feb. 7,8,9, and to vote for the town. Carpenter seconded. All were in favor. 1 • s 1 ol Aletter was read from the State concerning State Aid for the Michigan Hill Bridge'and the Seamans Creek Bridge. The Town Board meeting will be held the second Monday in February. Sager made a motion that the Town pay for the mailing of the H.I.C. paper. Barber seconded. All were in favor. The books of the Town Justice, Supervisor, and Town Clerk were audited and found to be correct. The Supervisors General and Highways reports were also read. A summary report was read. The minutes of the January 3,1972 meeting were read. They were approved at that meeting. The bills listed on Highway Abstract#2 claims 6-16 and Highway Payroll Abstract#1 and General Ab- stract #2 claims 9-30 were read. Carpenter made a motion to pay the bills listed on these abstracts. Sager seconded. All were in favor. The monthly statements of the Supervisor were read. Sager made a motion to approve these. Barber seconded. All were in favor. The January Report of the Dog Warden was read. Aletter was read from the Regional Director of Transportation saying that a prudent speed for Harford would be 35mph and for Harford Mills 40mph. This was in agreement with the New York State Police. An Agreement with the County for the expendi- ture of Highway moneys was signed by all the Board members. The sum of $5775.00 shall be set aside to be expended for primary work and general repairs upon 23.54 miles of Town highways. Sager made a motion to transfer $40 from 1990.4 to 1110.4. Allen seconded. All were in favor. Sager made a motion to transfer $5,000 from A-9560 to R-9560. Carpenter seconded. All were in favor. The minutes were read. March 27,1972 State of New York County of Cortland Town of Harford The Town Board of the Town of Harford met for a special meetingcalled by the Supervisor on March 27 1972, to dicuss the Proposed Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Harford. Members present were Dennis Wilson, Andrew Carpenter, Kenneth Allen, Lewis Sager, and Salvador Barber, Some changes were suggested in the Proposed Ordin- ance® It was agreed that a member of the Town Planning Board should be invited to a following meeting to ex- plain more fully some of the regulations, definitions, etc. Sager made a motion to adjourn® 1 fj April 3, 1972 0 1 State of New York County of Cortland Town of Harford The Town Board of the Town of Harford met for a regular meeting at the Town Hall on April 3,1972. Members present were; Dennis Wilson, Andrew Carpenter, Kenneth Allen, Lewis Sager, and Salvador Barber. At the request of the Board Mr. Raymond Liddington attended the meeting to answer some of the questions pertaining to the Ordinance. The minutes of the May 1,1972 meeting were read. They were approved at,that meeting. A letter was read from Larry Gross of the Dept. of Enviromental Conservation, saying that he and a member of the Cortland County Health Dept. had inspected the Town Refuse Disposal Area. They recommended that the violations that they found be corrected. Sager made a resolution that the Highway Super- intendent be authorized to purchase snow plow equip- ment for the sum of $995.00. July 31 ,1972 State of New York County of Cortland Town of Harford The Town Board of the Town of Harford met for a special meeting called by the Supervisor on August 1,1972. at the Town Hall. Eugene Jones and Geno Patriarca from the Cortland County Planning Board presented a Harford Town Sketch. • This contained a great deal of information they felt would be of interest to the towns -people and helpful to anyone who might be planning to move into the town. They suggested that the Town have copies of this Sketch made up and offer it for sale the people at a minimum cost. Helen Jewett, Raymond Liddington, and James Hart- man of the Town Planning Board attended the meeting. Harford met for a special meeting on October 16,1972 at the Town Hall. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the bid and plans from Donald Keith for the Town Highway Garage. Sager made a motion to accept the bid with the following changes: Ila bead height- steel for an additional two feet, $437.000 labor and materials for Keith, $278.50, extra bottom girt, $130.00, for an additional total cost of $845.50. The Town of Harford will put in the gravel fill and remove the top soil for minus $334.00. The Town will exchange the 20 year guarantee on the outside gait for a 5 year guarantee for minus $138.00. Also chain lifts will be put on 3 doors for an additional $150.00.The final bid figure will'-belV42,852.93. Carpenter seconded. All were in favor.
