ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
The Organizational Meeting of the Town of Groton Zoning Board of Appeals was called to
order at 7 p.m. by Acting Chairperson Patricia Gaines.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES – 17 FEBRUARY 2021
A motion was made by Member Paul Fouts to approve the Minutes of the 17 February 2021
Planning Board meeting, as submitted/corrected. The motion was seconded by Member Ted
Schiele, with the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Acting Chair Gaines Nays: None

Motion carried.
This becomes Action #1 of 2022.
ORGANIZATIONAL MATTERS FOR 2022
Selection of Board Chair
A motion was made by Member Schiele to select Patricia Gaines as Town of Groton ZBA
Chair for 2022. The motion was seconded by Member Fouts with the vote recorded as
follows:
Ayes: Acting Chair Gaines Nays: None

Motion carried.
This becomes Action #2 of 2022.

Selection of Board Vice-Chair
A motion was made by Member Carolann Darling to select Member Schiele as Town of
Groton Planning Board Vice Chair for 2022. The motion was seconded by Member Schiele,
with the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chair Gaines Nays: None

Motion carried.
This becomes Action #3 of 2022.
Selection of Regular Meeting Date and Time
A motion was made by Member Fouts to maintain the regular meeting date as the 3rd
Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m., seconded by Member Darling, with a vote recorded as
follows:
Ayes: Chair Gaines Nays: None

Motion carried.
This becomes Action #4 of 2022.
Selection of Liaison to Clerk’s Office for Application Work Flow
A motion was made by Member Schiele that the Town of Groton ZBA agrees to provide a
liaison to the Clerk’s office for Application Work Flow on a quarterly basis, as follows: 1st -
Carolann Darling, 2nd - Pat Gaines, 3rd - Ted Schiele, 4th - Ryan Abbott, with Paul Fouts as
the alternate. The motion was seconded by Member Fouts, with the vote recorded as follows:
Ayes: Chair Gaines Nays: None

ADJOURNMENT
At 7:10 p.m., a motion to adjourn was made by Member Fouts, seconded by Member Darling, with
all members present voting in the affirmative.
