Wescott stated that it was not going to be feasible to place an Ambulance in Varna. We would have to hire a third crew to make it work. K. Wescott also discussed the cost of hiring EMTs and Paramedics. We will revisit discussion at a later date. Patrick handed out a sheet containing the types of calls that IFD responds to for EMS and another sheet that contained calls that should be added to that list. The Departments will take back to their members and EMS officers for discussion. Nothing was decided to the creating a new position of coordinator and existing fire warden position. J. Leifer will discuss with the Town Board and advise of their decision. New Business Town Contracts: Each department has a different contract with the Town. It was suggested that it be the same in all 4 departments, except for Neptune Hose and WB Strong as they are also contracted with either the Village of Dryden or Village of Freeville. After some discussion, it was decided that the WB Strong contract will be the contract for 2019. L. Shurtleff discussed the EMR/CFR and how it would be beneficial to the Town and County, and mentioned that a plan was in the works to offer the courses next year. L. Shurtleff also discussed the fact that EMS and fire department volunteers are dwindling and would like to initiate a recruitment and retention program next year. J. Leifer stated that the 2% money should be received by the departments soon. P. Brunner asked if anyone had anything else to discuss or bring up. Went around room to each person present and nothing else was brought up. Next Meeting will be February 12, 2019 7:00 p.m. at the Freeville Fire Station. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm Respectfully submitted, Patrick M. Brunner, Fire Warden
