HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-01-14Page 1 of 2 Draft Agriculture Advisory Commission Town of Dryden January 14, 2014 Members Present: Evan Carpenter (Chair), Kim LaMotte, Joe Osmeloski, Douglas Barton and Brain Magee Staff Present: none Town Board Liaison: Jason Leifer Conservation Board Liaison: Craig Schutt Planning Board Liaison: Craig Anderson Guests: none Chairman Carpenter opened the meeting at 7:36 PM. E. Carpenter asked for approval of November’s minutes, because no draft was available for review, it was agreed to move approval to next month’s meeting. 1. Agriculture Protection Grant. J. Nicholson prepared a draft of the New York Agriculture & Markets Farmland Protection Grant application for the Committee’s review. E. Carpenter questioned why George Frantz’s name was on the list of “Key project personnel.” K. LaMotte thought that Tompkins Cooperative Extension would be preparing and writing the Plan. Joe Osmeloski wanted to know who would make up the “Project Team” as outlined in the Project Timeline. E. Carpenter said he would call J. Nicholson to express the Committee’s concerns. 2. Comprehensive Plan Review. C. Anderson stated that the Planning Board was reviewing the Goals and Objectives in the Comprehensive Plan to better understand what has and has not been accomplished to date and the Planning Board would like the Ag. Committee’s input on the Agricultural Section. The Committee agreed to review the Ag. section at home and discuss it at next Month’s meeting. Page 2 of 2 Draft 3. Farmers Market J. Osmeloski asked if there was any plan for a Framers Market this year. A discussion about a location followed, the lawn between the Fire Station and the Southworth House, the vacant lot between the closed Dollar Store and Enterprise, the corner for Ringwood and Rt.13. J. Leifer said he would contact the Village Mayor to see if he has any suggestions on a location. There being no further business, J. Osmeloski motioned to adjourn and D Barton seconded the motion.
