TOWN OF ULYSSES
JOINT MEETING - DRAFT-ZONING ORDINANCE
TOWN BOARD & PLANNING BOARD
September 12, 2002
PRESENT: Town Board Members Present: Supervisor Doug Austic, Councilpeople
Carolyn Duddleston, Sue Poelvoorde and Robert Weatherby.
Planning Board Members: Richard Coogan, Lorren Hammond, Mark Ochs and David
Tyler. Also Present: Code Enforcement Officer Alex Rachun, Planning Consultant
George Frantz, and Recording Secretary Karin Lanning.
Supervisor Austic called the meeting to order at 7 : 15 p . m.
The agenda for the meeting was review of the draft revised Zoning Ordinance for
corrections.
Article 5 - A2 Agricultural District ( Special Agricultural District)
Under Section 2, the following were added as "permitted uses" :
Athletic competitions, supervised youth and community sponsored programs,
reunions and other public or private assemblies, day camps, and . . . animal
training.
Article 9 - Manufactured Home Park District
Discussion and clarification-no language changed .
Article 4 - Agricultural District
A great deal of discussion on what happens to agricultural lands remaining after all
allowed subdivision has taken place ; how said subdivisions should be regulated and
reviewed, and by whom; and how to encourage subdivision that will have the least
possible impact on the public view-shed.
Article - Campgrounds
After brief discussion, it was decided that Mr. Rachun would discuss this Article with
Mr. Frantz, and advise on needed changes in language .
The meeting adjourned at 9 : 30 pm. The next joint Zoning Work Session was set for
Thursday, October 10th at 7 : 00 p. m.
