HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-08-08 - TB g L � TOWN OF ULYSSES JOINT TOWN BOARD & PLANNING BOARD ZONING ORDINANCE WORK SESSION August 8, 2002 PRESENT: Town Supervisor Doug Austic, Town Board Members Sue Poelvoorde, Carolyn Duddleston, Planning Board Chair Lorren Hammond, Planning Board Members Richard Coogan, Rodney Porter, David Tyler and George Kennedy, Planning Consultant George Frantz, Planning Board Clerk Eileen Jacobs. Absent: Lee Scott, Robert Weatherby, Rose Hilbert andMark Ochs. The meeting came to order at 7 : 05 p . m. A newly revised version of the "Draft Zoning Ordinance for Town of Ulysses, New York" revised August 1 , 2002 was reviewed . The following revisions were recommended to this document. (Underline adds text, strikethrough deletes text. ) Section 2. 9 - Establishment of Districts Revision on page 4, "A2 - Special Agricultural District (Fairgrounds)" Section 3. 2 - Glossary Page 9 - clinic. "A building . . . treatment of persons on an outpatient basis only who are sick . . . " Add definitions for professional office and professional medical office. Page 11 - frontage. In the case of lots that bound on a lake shore, the length of the boundary line abutti g *he4ake oc is the distance between the side lot lines extended to the mean high water mark and generally parallel to the shoreline. Page 14 - lot line, side. Any lot line that is not a front or rear lot line. George Frantz will include language indicating that the minimum rear setback shall be 50 feet for lots fronting on the lake. Article X RH - Hamlet Residence District, Section 4 Uses Permitted by Special Permit Page 39 - Delete "Hospital" `55 Joint Meeting 8/8/02 2 Article XVII, Design Standards, Section 4. 2 Off-Premises Sign! and Business Directional Signs Page 69 - #2 . no business directional sign shall exceed six (6) square feet in area, and not be higher than six (6) feet; Delete #3 . (reference to not placing signs within right-of-way) #4 . "no business directional sign shall be placed more than 1 ,000 feet from, and no less than 25 feet from, any intersection at which prospective customers are being directed to turn off the . . . " Add new item: signs must conform to New York State requirements. Article XVII, Section 14 Vegetative Buffer Areas Page 83 , second paragraph, second sentence: Plants selected for use in any required buffer areas should be species native hearty to the Finger Lakes region and not invasive.
