The meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Ithaca was held on August 15 , 1960 at 7 : 30 P . M . in the Supreme Court Room of the Tomplins County Court House as was advertised in the ITHACA JOURNAL on August 4 , 1960 . Members present were : . William Rolston , chairman ; Aldus Fogelsanger ; and Robert N . Powers . Also present were : Charles Hunn , applicant ; and Robert J . Wells , Zoning Officer of the Town of Ithaca . The chairman , Mr . Rolston , called the meeting to order and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to consider the application of Charles Hunn to build a house on the rear portion of his lot with frontage . on Blackston Avenue , with the size of the lot being 100 x 118 feet . Petition had been denied by the Zoning Officer under Section 16 of Article IV of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Ithaca . The applicant stated that he understood that 120 ' depth was the minimum required . Mr . Rolston explained that although 120 ' depth in an R - 9 district is permissible with water and sewers , the property in question is in an R - 15 district , where minimum depth is 150 ' . Mr . Hunn then requested that the ap placation be withdrawn . A petition. was presented by Mr . William Hansel which con- tained 21 signatures asking that the provisions of the zoning ordinance be strictly adhered to . After discussion , the board duly moved and seconded to accept the request of Mr . Hunn to withdraw the application . Motion carried unanimously .
