Applicants .
The meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals of. the
Town of Ithaca was held on June 20 , 1960 at the Supervisors
Rooms of the Tompkins County Court House at 7 : 30 P . M . as
was advertised in the ITHACA JOURNAL on June 13 , 1960 . Mem-
bers present were : William Rolston , chairman ; Aldus Fogel -
sanger ; and Constance E . Cook , secretary . Also present were :
Mrs . and Mrs : R . Curtis Gray , applicants ; and Robert J . Wells ,
Zoning Officer of the Town of Ithaca .
The chairman , Mr . Rolston , called the meeting to
order and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to con -
sides the application of Mr . and Mrs . R . Curtis Gray for
special approval for an extension of a non- conforming use to
add six- units to the Gray Haven Motel which is in a commer
cial " B " district . The application of the applicants had been
denied by the Zoning Officer of the Town . of Ithaca under
Sections 33 and 54 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of . Ithaca .
The applicants stated that the reason for the pro -
posed change is that there is a need for more room to ac -
commodate summer users and the motel must be larger in order
to operate economically .
No objections to the proposed changes were ex -
pressed .
In the discussion that followed , it was noted . that
the motel is set back 67 feet , the present buildings are
neatly maintained , and they are consistent with surrounding
uses.
After motion duly made and seconded , the board
voted unanimously to grant -the special approval applied for
by Mr . and Mrs . R . Curtis Gray .
. There being no further business , the meeting was
adjourned .
