Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Ithaca
October 27 , 1959 •

The meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals of the
Town of Ithaca was held on October 27 , 1959 , in the office of
the Zoning Officer , Forest Home Building , Ithaca , New York at
6 : 00 P . M . Members present were : William Rolston , chairman ,
Aldus Fogelsanger , David Powers ; and Robert Powers . Others
present were : Ben V . Boynton , Zoning Officer of the Town of
Ithaca .
The chairman called the meeting to order and stated
that the . purpose of the meeting was to discuss the application
of Dr . John Hirshfeld for special approval to build a medical
clinic on the Trumansburg Road just east of the intersection
of Hayts Road . The section of the ordinance affected is
Section 4 , Subsection 100
The board discussed the application at some length .
It was noted that the premises consist of a five acre plot . The
applicant wishes to build a building large enough to house the
activities of six or seven doctors , and he feels that this
centralization of medical services would be an asset to the
community . The board considered the distance from the Cayuga
Heights area to the proposed new medical clinic .
The board approved the application within the limits
of the Zoning Ordinance and the information available at this
time .
