May 19 , 1970
The regular meeting of the Town of Ithaca Planning Board
was held on May 19 , 1970 at the Town of Ithaca offices , 108
East Green Street , Ithaca , New York .
Present : Chairman , Robert Scannell ; Robert Christianson ,
Arnold Albrecht ; Daniel Baker ; Reg Collins ; Barbara Holcomb ;
Walter Schwan ; and Peter Francese ( Planning Consultant ) . Mr .
Sam Slack who has indicated an interest in being on the
Planning Board was also present .
Mr . Collins made a motion that the March and April
minutes be approved . The motion was seconded by Mrs . Holcomb
and unanimously passed .
Drew Subdivision Final Approval . Mr . Otis Drew re -
quested final approval for ten lots of an R - 30 subdivision
off Poole Road on the western edge of the Town . After a
brief discussion about rezoning the land in question to R - 30
a motion was made by Mrs . Holcomb and seconded by Mr . Christi -
anson that a public hearing be scheduled at the next regular
Planning Board meeting for the purpose of rezoning Mr . Drew ' s
land from Agricultural to R - 30 . The motion passed unanimously .
Then Mr . Christianson made a motion that final approval of
Mr . Drew ' s subdivision be granted . The motion was seconded
by Mr . Baker and passed unanimously . Later in the meeting
it was determined that a public hearing should be held before
granting final approval of Mr . Drew ' s subdivision so it will
be discussed again at the rezoning public hearing next month .
Eastern Heights Sign Application . Mr . Norm Jordan , repre -
senting Eastern Heights , showed plans for and requested approval
of . a brick wall type sign at the entrance to their subdivision .
Mr . Collins made a motion seconded by Mr . Albrecht , that the
sign be approved . The motion passed without dissent .
Church on Burleigh Drive . A representative of The
Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints presented the plans
for a church on Burleigh Drive . A motion was made by Mr .
Christianson and seconded by Mr . Collins to approve the plans .
The motion passed unanimously .

Subdivision Regulations . A discussion was held con -
cerning the proposed subdivision regulations but no formal
action was taken until copies of the regulation became
available for everyone to read .
There being no further business a motion was made by
Mr . Scannell and seconded by Mrs . Holcomb to adjourn the
meeting . The meeting was adjourned at 9 : 00 p . m .
