The regular meeting of the : Town of Ithaca Planning
Board was held March 17 , 1970 in the Town of Ithaca offices ,
108 E . Green Street , Ithaca , New York .
Present : Chairman Robert Scannell , Arnold Albrecht , Harry
Baker , Robert Christianson , Barbara Holcomb , Walter Schwan ,
David Cowan , and Peter Francese ( Planning Consultant ) .
Mr . Peter. Augustine requested final approval for con -
struction of an electrical equipment repair shop in back of
an existing house at 630 Elmira Road . He was given preliminary
approval at our February meeting with the stipulation that some
type of air pollution filter be provided . All other requirements
have been met . Bob Christianson made a motion to grant final
approval to Mr . Augustine ' s proposal . The motion was seconded
by Arnold Albrecht and unanimously passed .
Mat Associates . Mr . N . Caruso and Mr . D . Urciuoli from
Mat Associates of Syracuse presented plans for the construction
of a shopping center and residential area on Danby Road . Such
construction would require various zoning changes . They requested
that a public hearing be held at our next meeting . A motion was
made by Bob Christianson to hold a public hearing at our April 21
meeting . Barbara Holcomb seconded the motion , and it was unani -
mously passed .
Approval of Minutes . Harry Baker made a motion to approve
the minutes of the last meeting . The motion was seconded by
Barbara Holcomb and unanimously passed .
Tompco Meeting . It was reported that final approval was
given for the Tompco development on Ellis Hollow Road at a
special meeting held on February 24 , 1970 .
The meeting was adjourned at 8 : 45 p . m .
