TOWN OF ITHACA PLANNING BOARD F8bruary 17 , 1970 The regular meeting of the Town of Ithaca Planning Board was held Febuary 17in the `sown of Ithaca offices , 108 I East Green Street , thaca , New York . Present : Chairman Robert Scannell , Barbara Holcomb , Fred Peter Francese ( Planning Consultant ) , Bob Christianson , Scott , Daniel Baker , David Cowan . Paul Tavelli , Walt Schwan , Public Hearing for WTKO Rezonin for the Ivy Broadcasting Company +s A public hearing was held request for rezoning a pz' tion of the ':•�Irisley property on South Hill from R - 30 residential to Business District to " construct o WTKO has been granted a license by theour radio towers , 300 feet high , in order to broadcast on a four hour basis . The propsed towers would only be used for transmitting . night . The FCC has stated that this will in no way interfere with television reception in the vicinity of the towers y Don Ericksont The public attending included Robert Peresk , These area Charles Manick , Mr . and Mrs . Pool , and Mr . Howells . to such a zoning change and the construct - residents were opposed ion of the towers . They felt that the towers will be an eye sore , a determent to future housing developments , and a possible soarce of trouble with television reception . Mr . Lucente requested final approval for an additional 21 lots adjacent to a previously developed section along Salem Drive . 7 . Peter Augustine requested preliminary approval for con- struction of an electrical equipment repair shop in back of an existing house at 630 Elmira Rd . The property is within a light industrial zone and theretis no change in zoning required . Baker made a motion we approv was seconded by Bob Christianson and unanimously passed * WTKO Rezonings Discussion was held concerning the rezoning request made by WTKO . Opposed were Barbara Holcomb and Daniel Baker . The motion was passed. Rocco Lucente Plan : approval to Daniel Baker made a motion that we give final app on of Sharonwood Drive and Pinewood the Lucente Subdivisiassed . The motion was seconded by Paul Tavelli and unanimously p Approval of Minuteso A motion was made by Paul Tavelli to accept the minutesof the previous three meetings . The motion was seconded by Fred Scott and unanimously passed . qf -4 February 179 1970 - 3 - _Trinity Lutheran Churche Dave Cowan read a letter from the Trinity Luthern Church on Honness Lane requesting permission to construct a marker for the church . The marker would be a cross with a stone base to identify the church . A letter was also presented signed by all the neighboring people stating that they had no objection to its construction . Fred Scott made a motion to app rove this construction . Bob Christianson seconded the motion and it was unanimously passed .
