The Board questioned Mr . Francese in respect to what ° he could do
for - the Town on a consulting basis . The Town at present has not
hired a plexuier and has no applicants forte the job . Mr . Francese
has computerized data available , as a, result of his position as
head of a 14 County Regional Association of , Libraries . His job
is to develop a pla.nning , information ;,center where information
would be available - to City , Town and regional planning organiza-
tions in ., the Southern Tier .
He stated that he could develop a land use map for the • Town from
the data . already . available . ' The whole county has abeen done and
the information stored • in the �computter .'- He could also do a pop -
eulation distribution map . from the same source and gave us a fig-
ure of $ 560 . 00 , plus expenses .
1968 Aerial Photos are also available toaup - date • the Towns Aerial
Photo map which was done in 1964 . Estimated cost $ 100 . 00 for
photos blown up to our scale .
The Town should also have a base map which shows contours and
this could be done from the USGS =' Survey maps .
R . Scannell ( Masters Degree in City Planning and Planning Direc -
tor of- Ames Iowa for one year ) stated that all these things
would have to be done before any planner the Town hired could
proceed with any planning for the Town . He stated that the price
quoted was very reasonable and recommended we hire Mr . Francese
to do the work . A tenative decision was reached to hire
Mr . Francese providing the Town Base Map which Noel Desch has is
suitable for the ,job . If it is not this could complicate the
situation . Mr . Schwan agreed to meet with Mr . Francese and
Mr . Desch to check the map and then to contact the Board Members
by phone for a final decision .
Meeting adjourned at 8 : 30 P . M .

The Town Base Map is satisfactory . Members of Board were
contacted by phone on 9/11/69 and all voted to hire
Mr . Francese .
