TOWN OF ITHACA
PLANNING BOYARD MINUTES
JULY 9 , 1968
The Regular Meeting of the Town of Ithaca Planning Board was held on
Tuesday , July 9 , 1968 at 7 : 30 P . 22 . at the Town of Ithaca Offices ,
108 Fast Green Street , Ithaca , New York .
Members of the Board present : Chairman Noel Desch , Halter Schwan ,
James Lacey , Elmer Phillips , Robert Scannell , Dan Baker and Secretary
Cheryl S . Beninati .
Others present : Allan Berry , Sue Strandberg , Bill Franzen , !4r . Kelly ,
Mr . Spaulding , and Mr . Caruso .
The meeting was called to order at 7 : 35 P . M . by Chairman Desch .
FRANZEN SUBDIVISION
Review washad of this subdivision adjacent to Eastern f',eights ,
especially the map prepared by James Dunlop of Lozier Engineers ,
showing the water and sewer districts in the Town of Ithaca .
LIBERMAN PROPOSAL - EAST SHOpI; DRIVE
This Public Hearing was called to order at 8 : 00 P . M .
This area has already been re - zoned to Multiple REsidence . Mr .
Spaulding , attorney , explained that the entire site plan would be
changed from that previously submitted to the Planning Board .
The new plan would be much more economical and would have a much
better view from the road . 71r . Caruso , architect , explained the
proposed plan . Mr . Desch explained that the plans would have to
be submitted in final form , including water and sewer facilities ,
etc . Two- thirds of the unites would he two-bedroom while one-
third would be 1 bedroom .
Upon motion by Mr . Phillips , seconded by Mr . Lacey and carried by
unanimous vote , it was moved that the plan be approved with the
same provisions as to water and sewer as applied , to the general
site plan approved by the Planning Board on "larch 24 , 1967 ,
reference being hereby made to the minutes of the March 24 meeting ,
previously known as Lake Shore Apartment ( Classen/Strok Development ) .
This hearing was closed at 8 : 30 P . fvl .
LAYTON - MURIEL STRFET
1 ^r . Layton has made an offer to purchase a parcel of land between
Muriel Street and Tareyton Drive , Mr . Layton proposed to convert
this land into four lots ( possibly five ) with Tareyton Drive coming
into the area ending in a cul- de- sac .
Upon motion by Mr . Phillips , seconded by Mr . Lacey and carried by
unanimous vote , it wasmoved that schematic approval be granted to

Mr . Laybon s plan .
It was pointed out to Per . Layton that he has to come back to the
Board for approval of a final plan drawn by a surveyor or engineer .
A report was given by Mr . Allan Berry for the pine Tree Road ,
I-Ionness Lane , Slaterville Association . Present status asked by
association to continue area as R- 15 . Have petition signed by
acout 58 persons who express viewpoint , Sometime , change may be
desirable and someone may have a highly desirable plan - until that
is submitted association wants no change .
This meeting was adjourned at 9 : 10 P . P1 .
