May 11 , 1998
Present : Chair George Tselekis, Carl Mann, Jim Hickey , Building Inspector Alex
Rachun, and Steven Grahling .
Recording minutes : Deb Austic
George called the meeting to order at 7 : 34 p . m . The Board reviewed the
application for a variance from Steven Grahling at 7076 Searsburg Road . The application
was for three variances and all are very close to conformance . The house was 65 feet
from the center of the road, not quite 15 feet from the side yard, and 170 feet of road
frontage . Grahling said he was presenting the largest possible scenario and the addition
may turn out smaller. Only part of the addition would be two-story . Six neighbors were
notified and none responded .
Jim made a motion that whereas the variation was not substantial , and whereas
there would be no impact on government facilities or increase in population, and whereas
there would be no change in the character of the neighborhood, and whereas there would
be no detriment to adjoining properties, and whereas there would be no other feasible
method to pursue the goals, in the interests of justice the variance be granted . Carl
seconded the motion and the board voted .
