The meeting was opened at 7 :40 p .m . by Chairman Ligouri , minutes of last meeting read and correcteO as follows . tinder the John Farion sub division,, this portion of the last line " and referred to the subdivision committee " should be deleted . Phillips explained the new zoning nap and outlined the various lot designations after which coYrrents were asked for from the public present . Brieflys some of the continents and questions are as follows : , A . Pakkala People in the Kendall Ave . area do not favor industrial zoning and the old Ithaca Land Co . maps do not show this as such . T .T . Powers ldhat happened to the proposed water district in the Du Boise Road area? E The NW area is the most desireable for agriculture use and feels it should be preserved . C . Cook The map shows no area for recreational development as does the Regional Planning Board rap . Do we want this indicated ? L.L. Farion Felt that more R®9 lots closer to the city should be made avail- able ,, there is an excess of R�15 areas . C Should be some protection for the new West hill residential area not having to look down on an industrial site as outlined on zoning wapo W .W . Wierins Will residential buildings be discouraged in the West agriculture area? Seems unfair for farmers to be assesed on owning building lots as his farm. W. Heas ey Has the NE district been zoned for multiple dwellings and Brotels ? C . Given Would suggest a 20% variation in frontage on R-15 and R&0 lots if made up in depth , T�Pow rs There is no leeway in the ordinance for the planning or zoning boards to make allowance by calling for a 2 story or 25 foot high dwelling . L. Marion Wore thought has been given to lot size rather than zoning ,, don ° $ feel we should adopt this . 2 The following revisions were suggested by the board and the zoning map will be revised accordingly. 1 . Reduce the size of the proposed industrial area South . of city ( Therm Elect . ) to the present size . 2 . Change the Fenwick heights , East and West shore areas from R. 9 to R�15 district . Four votes in favor one opposed . 3 . In the discussion of the Forest Hore area one vote favored the R=9 district and three votes favored the Rm15 district . It was also suggested that the Cornell housing be zoned rultiple dwelling; and to have the university give the board a layout of their proposed plan in this area . 4 . Cornell Warters Area as R49 OK 5 . IdeYran business area at Judd Falls Road to be changed from Business C to B . Four votes in favor9 apposed none . 6 . The following area ° s OK as outlined on present zoning map . A . Clover Lane Bo Slaterville Road m Pine Tree Road Co Hudson Street = Penn . Ave , D . Cottington Road South Hill Central r 7. Both sides of Danby Road to business area at Kings Corner including Stone Quarry Road to South City line to be revised to a R. 9 district . Four votes in favor ,, none opposed . 8 . Flats area ( South) East of railroad track to be Industrial West of railroad track to be Light Industrial . Along Fiorel Ave . Rm15 change to Rm9 and R�15 to R40 (West ) districts . Four votes favor , none opposed . 9 . Elmira Road change portion of light industrial district to Business "B " o Remove " Greenhouses 9" and " Idursery 12 " from Business " C" and place in Business " B" . Notion carried unanimously. 10. Expand West Hill area with R45 district to a line running South from the intersection of the T�Burg and Du Boise Road to Hopkins Road . Keep the Du Boise and Indian Creek Road area as R40 . Motion unanirously favored . The motion was Trade that the lots in the R®40 districts could have a 20% variation in frontage with a QO foot side ya d . Two votes in favor , one opposed . Ordinance corrections 0 Page 329 Section 519 Residence District Ra9 should read R40, Page 1.29 Section 83 the word in the first line "repealed " should read " amended " .
