SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
AUGUST 29 , 1996
PRESENT : Supervisor Douglas Austic , Councilpeople Carolyn Duddleston ,
Catherine Stover . absent : Peter Penniman and Robert Weatherby , Councilman .
Marsha L . Georgia , Town Clerk .
Mr . Austic reviewed the amount of funds that the Town has put aside in the
Capital Reserve Acct . to do the project . He stated that there is $ 78 , 000 set
aside . There may be $ 100 , 000 in unexpended fund balances ( that he made clear
• that he would not advise using ) . He also explained that the Town could use
their SALES TAX monies that they have left with the County . If this is used
it would make the tax base for the County go up for 1997 .
The Board discussed the base prices and what alternatives and the prices for
these .
The Board decided that they should get together with the architecture , look
over all the bids and the alternates so it is clear to the Board .
The Board also decided that they should hold a Public Hearing to explain what
needs to be done and the whole situation and maybe get a feel for the project .
A Public Hearing was set for September 10th , 1996 at 7 : 00 prior to the Regular
Board Meeting . This will be held at the Village Hall due to the Primary at
the Town Hall .
The Board will also try and set a work session meeting with all of the members
and Peter Demjanec & Associates to reconcile all the base bid prices and the
alternates and see what is what and what the Town maybe able to afford .
Hearing no further discussion the meeting was adjourned .
