SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
April 29, 1974 - 5s00 p.m.
At k specicd meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca, Tomp-
kins County, New York, held at the Town of Ithaca Offices at 108 East
Green Street, Ithaca, New York, on the 29th day bf April, 1974, at
5:00 p.m., there were

Noel Desch, Councilman

Barbara Holcomb, Planning Board Chairman
Kenneth Krbohs, Planning Engineer
CONTRACT AWARD - CODDINGTON ROAD WAtER EXTENSION
Supervisor SchWan reviewed that on April 8, 1974 bids were received
and opened with regard to the Coddington Road Water Extension? that
the low bidder was Piccirilli Brothers General Contractors, Inc. of
Binghamton, New York, bid price $24,990.
Supervisor Schwan read letter dated April 23, 1974 from Lozier En
gineers, Inc. to the Supervisor and the Town Board recommending that
the project be awarded on the use of ductile iron pipe to the low
bidder, Piccirilli Brothers General Contractors, Inc., 6 Stuyvesant
Street, Binghamton, New York, 13901, in the amount of $24,990. Based
on this recommendation, the Board took the following action:
Motion by Councilman Desch; seconded by Councilman McElwee,
WHEREAS, on April 8, 1974, bids were received for the con
struction of the Coddington Road Water Extension to the Town of Ithaca
Water System for the Town of Ithaca, New York? and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has carefully considered the report
and recommendation of the engineer, namely Lozier Engineers, Inc.,
with respect to these bids, including the specific recommendation of
the engineer that it would be in the best interests of the Town of
Ithaca to use ductile iron pipe,
NOW, THEREFORE, based upon the examination of the bids, and
the report of Lozier Engineers, Inc., it is determined that the best
interests of the Town of Ithaca will be served by using ductile iron
pipe, and
IT IS RESOLVED:
That the contract for construction be awarded to the lowest
responsible bidder, Piccirilli Brothers, General Contractors, Inc.,
6 Stuyvesant Street, Binghamton, New York, 13901, for a sum not to
exceed $24,990.

FURTHER RESOLVEDs
I I That the Town Supervisor is authorized to sign the contract
documents upon compliance by Picciriili Brotheri with all reguire-
ihents including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing,
the furnishing of the required insurance policies with proper endorse
ments and performance bond.
