RESOLUTION #578 SANITARY LAND PILL Schwan indicated that a request had been received for I- t. .® ®^PPro*al of a sanitary landfill on the Eddy property Osite would be conq>osed of I50 acres, one- third located in the Town of Ithaca and the balance in the Town of Enriela, nCounty Representative Sam MacNeil spoke on behalf of several people in the area opposed to this site. He cited the long, dangerous hill, "time trucks would take to travel this hill, administration Of the d\mp site; and the fact that the road is obsolete and would have to be resurfaced, etc. He also advised that Mr. Denison, owner of the little red house on this road, had indicated his Intention of establishing an ecological foundation on his property. - 2 .April 27, 1970 Other possible locations for leuidfill ar^ onsi site in the Town of Spencer suid one In the Town of Ovid. Mr- Iiiguori wants an indication of whether or not the Board will consider rezoning land on Bostwick Road. - v , Motion by Supervisor Schwan; seconded by Councilman DelRosso RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the. Town of Xthaca is opposed to the landfill site on Bostwick Road (Eddy, prc^erty) based on the fact that it would be a privately-run operation.! Carried; n . ITHACA COLLEGE WATER Supervisor Schwan indicated that Ithaca College would like permission to hook to the, Ridgecrest Road tank for fire reserve purposes so that they could be sure of a reserve of half-million gallons. , After considerable discussion it was decided that: Supervisor Schwan and James Dunlap would work with Ithaca College on the feasibility of this use, along with the means of metering the water used by the College.
