TOWN OF ULYSSES
JOINT MASTER PLAN / PLANNING BOARD MEETING
JANUARY 3 , 1995
• TOWN HALL
PRESENT : CHAIRWOMAN : SUE POELVOORDE ; MEMBERS : DAVID TYLER ,
CATHERINE STOVER , RUTH KAHN , KRYS CAIL , GERRI KEIL ,
C. JOANNE MOLINO , PETER DEMJANEC , GREGG HOFFMIRE , DAN
SMITH , RANDY BROWN ; SECRETARY : ROXANNE SMITH
The meeting came to order at 7 : 40 PM . The Town of Ulysses
411 survey responses are in. . The Members arrived with their spread
sheets from their assigned areas . The Chairwoman asked the
Members if they would like to share some of their impressions of
their sector ' s responses . Sue commented that in her tabulations ,
people tended to jump the gun on the first question . They
ignored the value question .
Catherine asked what kind of a response did the school issue
g et ? The rough estimate was that 36 of the Ithaca School
D istrict preferred Trumansburg , 18 preferred to remain in Ithaca .
A question was raised about those who had no children , did they .
e ven respond to the question ?
David had problems with questions three and four . Some of
the responses were difficult to tabulate , you almost needed two
more categories .
In question number five , some Members questioned if the
public understood the difference between strip and cluster .
The Members realized that their methods of tabulating the
responses were not all consistent . As a result of this discovery
some Members opted to re - do partially , or all of their spread
sheets . Sue will continue to enter the results in her computer .
Those Members who are re - doing their efforts will get their
✓ esults in to Sue in a timely fashion .

The Members discussed having a spread sheet for each
q uestion pertaining to their location . This would allow the
✓ eader of the survey results to discern how one specific sector
evaluates their needs / concerns , etc .
The next meeting is scheduled for January 23 , 1995 at 7 : 30
P M . Hopefully , by then Sue will be able to tabulate the results .

MEMBER , REPRESENTING HER SON BUDD STOVER ) ;

• The meeting came to order at 9 : 05 PM . The Chairman had
requested the meeting , as all but one Member were present , due
to the joint Master Plan Committee / Planning Board meeting held
before hand .
The minutes of the November 21 , 1994 meeting were reviewed .
Peter made the motion to pass the minutes , Krys seconded . The
minutes were approved unanimously .
The Members decided that they will continue to meet with the
Master Plan Committee . The Town of Ulysses survey responses need
to be entered into computer form . Once the results are tabulated
they can begin work on the Master Plan .
The meeting adjourned at 9 : 15 PM .
