SPECIAL BOARD MEETING / BUDGET WORKSHOP
October 13 , 1994

Mr . Austic stated he had worked long and hard on this budget that
he has presented ; reviewed the Department Head requests . The -
Town Clerk , Zoning / Building and Highway Department had all
requested 5 % salary increases and the Justice Department
requested a range of 5 % - 20 % in increases . Mr . Austic stated he
had figured in the Tentative Budget 4 . 5 % increase for all 01
accounts across the entire budget .
The Board discussed this . The Justice Dept . was reviewed and the
B oard commented that they have spoken about the Justice ' s
salaries and bringing them closer together ; they discussed the
case loads of each Justice and felt that they were much more
e ven . Lengthy discussion followed .
It was decided all wages would be left in the Tentative Budget at
the 4 . 5 % . The Justice Dept . would be figured at 4 . 5 % on gross
salary amount set for 1994 A1110 . 01 ; Deputy Clerk Irene Schickel
w ould be at 4 . 5 % increase on the hourly rate ; Clerk salary for
Christine Springer at 4 . 5 % but on the two Justices it would be
4 . 5 % on the total gross of the combined Justice salaries and then
divided giving 80 % added to Justice Springers salary and 20 % to
Justice Rectors salary .
The following are additional changes to the budget :
* A1110 . 4 reduced by $ 200 . for total of $ 4000 .
*A1450 . 1 & A1450 . 4 combine all into A1450 . 4 ( total $ 3870 . )
* A1670 . 4 reduce . by $ 800 . for total of $ 6000 .
* A1990 . 4 reduce by $ 500 . for total of $ 4000 .
* B8020 . 4 reduce by $ 2100 . for total of $ 2000 .
Youth was discussed . Mr . Austic stated that he had included the lifikKif
$ 2500 . charge to allow residents to attendrEmminalmariTirthe
single fee and not the triple fee . He also stated that he agrees
w ith this only if all Trumansburg School students are allowed to
attend ; if not he would vote to remove . Mr . Reitz assured him
that the Goon-ey had agreed to all students given this privilege .
N ote was made to look into Alpha House water ; RE : charging for
service / maintenance of water line .
D iscussion took place as to a public hearing date . The Public
H earing was set for November 1 , 1994 at 7 : 00pm prior to the
Regular Town Board Meeting .
Mrs . Georgia advised the Board that the Tentative Budget had to
be moved to Preliminary before the salaries and budget can be
advertised .
Mr . Curtis moved , seconded by Mr . Weatherby to move this adjusted
Tentative Budget to the Preliminary Budget .

Mrs . Georgia will advertise . The Budget meeting set for October
20th at 6 : 30pm may not be needed .
H earing no further business Mrs . Stover moved , seconded by Mr .
Weatherby for adjournment . Unanimously approved the meeting
adjourned at 9 : 40pm .
