Joint Fire/EMS Budgets meeting
Town of Ulysses
February 10, 2020

The meeting was held at the Ulysses Town Hall at 10 Elm Street, Trumansburg.
Notice of Town Board meetings are posted on the Town’s website and Clerk’s board.
ATTENDANCE:
TOWN OFFICIALS PRESENT:
Deputy Supervisor- Nancy Zahler
Board members- Richard Goldman, Michael Boggs, Katelin Olson
Town Clerk- Carissa Parlato
ABSENT:
Supervisor- Liz Thomas
OTHERS PRESENT:
Representatives from the Towns of Hector and Covert; Village of Trumansburg trustees; Deputy Fire
Chief, Matt Taylor; EMS Coordinator, Chris Fox
CALL TO ORDER:
Ms. Zahler called the meeting to order at 5:36pm.
DISCUSSION OF EMS BUDGET:
The group went through the proposed budget and discussed overtime, call volume, other billing
model examples, a new facility, potential new districts, reserve structure, and how to get more state
support. Village officials agreed to share additional information on billing models as they develop
them.
DISCUSSION OF FIRE BUDGET:
The group briefly discussed the proposed fire budget.
Ms. Zahler suggested that Ms. Olson be the town’s representative to a future working group for
Fire/EMS. She agreed.
ADJOURN:
Ms. Olson moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:41pm. This was seconded by Ms. Zahler and passed
unanimously.
