TOWN BOARD MINUTES
BUDGET WORKSHOP
OCTOBER 21 , 2003

Supervisor Fredric Dietrich
Councilpersons : Joel Gagnon, Naomi Strichartz, Gladys Varona-Lacey
Absent :
Councilperson Nolte excused

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dietrich at 7 : 00 p . m . to discuss items in the proposed
Fiscal Year 2004 budget .
Items Discussed - Where NYS Retirement shortfall is coming from in the 2003 budget.
Funds for purchase of equipment and the salt shed and other capitol projects .
Supervisor Dietrich and the bookkeeper presented the Board with information on costs of borrowing
money , bonding and leasing possibilities . Included projection of bond payments and interest
payments for seven (7) years . Our current bond payments including interest is $ 114 ,000 annually.
Insurance
Supervisor Dietrich reported that he has been in contact with Ithaca Agency and our insurance
package may be increased as much as 25 % if it is through St. Paul . Ithaca Agency is looking into
other insurance carriers .
No adjustments were made to the budget at this time .
Next Workshop - Saturday, October 25 , 2003 at 10 : 15 a. m.
On a motion by Councilperson Gagnon and seconded by Councilperson Strichartz that the Town
Board of the Town of Danby adjourn to Executive Session to review the Proposed CSEA Contract.
Meeting adjourned at 8 : 35 p . m .
